Together We Can Rule the World!

In today's climate, perhaps "rule the world" isn't the best thing to say, but it is the "together" part that is important. It was a true honor when Aaron McGriff, coach and founder of CG Riff, reached out to me to light the scene of animator, Jacob Rennie.

Onward!

We pick up where the talents of animator, Jacob Rennie, left off and now add special touches of look dev, lighting, and compositing to give the scene mood and the 'wow' factor.

Art of Reference

Original thought was to base the palette on a scene from the series, Outlander. As soon as it was changed to Roger Deakins' Assassination of Jesse James, it became visually more cinematic. Outlander was perfect for the light direction with mood taken from Discovery of Witches.

When a Disney lighter takes the time to teach you something, you take heed and listen. I immediately implemented a lesson on cinematography into the scene I was working on. The difference in my work was astounding.
