After attending several animation summits and noticing limited discussion around post-production disciplines such as lighting and compositing, I approached the organizers of AfroAnimation about creating space for those conversations.

That discussion led to this year’s lighting presentation focused on understanding lighting behavior across darker skin tones in animated productions.
